Here’s a fun project that will consume the next couple of months: It’s a set of four 50-foot tall mobiles that will hang in four stairwells of a Houston office building. The piece will include acrylic hexagon shapes of varying width and length. Stay tuned for progress pictures!
Children's Hospital of Georgia Mobile
Here’s a rendering of a classic-style mobile in our queue. This will span 20 feet in the newly renovated lobby of Children’s Hospital of Georgia in Augusta. Colors are still to be determined, but no matter what the client chooses, it should look amazing in that gorgeous space! Install is scheduled for spring of 2025, so stay tuned for updates.
Round Rock Hospital Ceiling Sculpture Rendering
Here’s a rendering of a ceiling sculpture we’re creating for a new hospital in Round Rock, Texas. The client requested a piece that provides substantial coverage to the hospital’s lobby while incorporating nature elements, so the piece will incorporate large leaf shapes strung together to span the 60-foot space. Color scheme is still tbd, so stay tuned for updates!
Daytona Beach Health Clinic Ceiling Sculpture
Here’s a ceiling sculpture we’re currently creating for the waiting area of a health clinic in Daytona Beach, Florida. Created from formed perforated aluminum panels, it will hang 8 feet wide by 10 feet tall. Below is an in-the-shop progress shot, featuring Matt’s signature analyzing-his-work pose.
SMU Peruna Ceiling Sculpture
Here’s a project we’re creating for Southern Methodist University’s athletics department. We’ll string together 2,106 small powder-coated SMU shetland pony mascot shapes to form one large Peruna, SMU’s official mascot. The entire Peruna will hang 14 feet wide by 7 feet tall. Matt and Ben will head to Dallas this summer to complete the installation. Stay tuned for updates!
Jacksonville Wall Mural-Mobile
Here are renderings of another fun project in our queue. It’s another collaboration with the very talented artist Daniel Goldstein. This wall-mounted mural-mobile will hang in a corporate office building in Jacksonville, Florida. Stay tuned for pictures of the process!
(We’ll be creating a hanging piece for the space, too! We’ll share those renderings when they’re ready.)
HVAC Ceiling Sculpture Rendering
Hi! We’re back already! We’re keeping busy with some very fun and interesting projects.
For this one, we’re working with a commercial HVAC manufacturer to suspended an “exploded” HVAC unit from the ceiling of their new global corporate headquarters. The company sent us an actual unit that Matt and Ben have dismantled and re-engineered to hang just so. It’s the ultimate project (and challenge!) for these tinkerers extraordinaire.
We’re planning to install next month, so check back for updates!
Umbrella Ceiling Sculpture
Here are renderings of a ceiling sculpture we’re making for a healthcare clinic right here in Portland. The client requested umbrella shapes with translucent acrylic panels to hang in the two-story stairwell.
Brazil Private Residence Mobile
Here’s a mobile we’re making for a private residence in Brazil. The client ordered a small custom mobile from us nearly 10 years ago, and wanted something special for the new home has family is building. The design is based on the mobile we made for the Ride Connection Mobile we made in 2014. Stay tuned for updates!
Wells Fargo Center Hanging Mobile
Here’s a project we’re focused on right now, a series of hanging mobiles that will span the entry lobby of the newly renovated Wells Fargo Center office building in Minneapolis. This is variation of our Prefab #3 Mobile with different, more substantial shapes. The client requested a canopy feel for the space, so this will span 15 feet across the lobby. Stay tuned for updates!
