Frank Lloyd Wright-Inspired Mobile at Home

You know we love seeing pictures of our mobiles hanging in their final homes, so we were thrilled to get pictures of this mobile we designed for a private residence in Maryland.

And we were even more thrilled to get this e-mail from the client: “This is so overwhelmingly beautiful—much better than I ever imagined. This is truly a treasured work of art. Thank you.”

Ok, our day is 100% made.

Frank Lloyd Wright-Inspired Mobile Update

This Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired hanging mobile is finished and ready to ship to its owner in Maryland! The cluttered background of our shop kind of detracts from the mobile—but we’re thrilled that this design challenge resulted in such a fun piece.

And for even even more behind-the-scenes peek, here are a few pictures we’re sending the client to help with assembly and installation. (We won’t bore you with the ten-minute assembly instruction video we made.)

Our clients are building a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired home in Maryland, and they requested a mobile that plays well with the components in their home.

Using the iconic art-glass Robie window style (pictured below) as inspiration, we incorporated strong black lines to mimic the window’s leaded components and a translucent material to mimic stained glass. The final piece will hang 14 feet tall by 6 feet in diameter. It will hang in the home’s two-story entryway.
